You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work. BG 2:47
Waiting for you #1 (2013), Displacements, 13 Wilkie Terrace, Singapore SG
During a deeply conscious spiritual phase - which I began in 2010 and I continue to navigate - I sought to explore the connection between art and life and share this with the audience. I believe art can serve as a catalyst for emotional experience and reflection.
Sitting at one end of the mat in a simple lotus position with my eyes closed, I extended my arms forward. When someone sat in front of me and held my arms, I opened my eyes and gazed into theirs for as long as they stayed. I hope that this exchange revealed that each of us is important and interconnected: despite our individual stories and differences, we can touch each other’s souls and see ourselves reflected within.
This performance was inspired by the morning meditation sessions I shared with my then 8-year-old son, Luca.
