Ignite (2013) in collaboration. with Ezzam Rahman, Displacements, 13 Wilkie Terrace, Singapore SG

I am fascinated by the humble box of matches, symbols of endless possibilities, yet always ignited with a purpose.

I want to celebrate their existence for its own sake, striking each match simply to watch it ignite, live briefly, and go out.

Together with my fellow artist Ezzam Rahman, we engage in this act, finding the repetition both irresistible and uniquely captivating each time. In those moments before a match is struck, the world is full of potential paths, until one is chosen through the unique action.

We enjoyed our collaboration so much that we turned this performance into a video. Click HERE to view Ignite, video-collaboration by Daniela Beltrani & Ezzam Rahman
